Hypnosis is very effective when working one-on-one. However, not everyone has the same level of susceptibility to hypnosis. Also, hypnosis for mental health, self-development or any reason is a very personalized experience. But it shouldn't be discounted all together for groups. Self-Mastery uses an innovative approach that incorporates the use of hypnosis and meditation, called medinosis. This program has been developed exclusively for SMI.
Medinosis is a mindful state of induced relaxation that incorporates meditation and hypnosis. Think, love child of Meditation + Hypnosis. During a medinosis session the facilitator will verbally instruct the group to imagine pleasing scenarios, and will affirm positive thoughts and feelings.
Let's break it down:
Meditation VS. Hypnosis
Meditation is the act of focusing on a single target (such as the breath or a repeated sound) to increase awareness of the moment and is usually performed alone. The repeated practice of meditation helps one achieve mental clarity, emotional stability, and a peaceful state.
Hypnosis is facilitated by a consulting hypnotist and participants are guided into a trance-like state using verbal repetition and mental images, in which heightened focus and concentration can be achieved. During this hypnotic state, the facilitator will offer positive suggestions that the subconscious mind is open to absorb, often times, producing immediate benefits.
* It is important to know that no-one can be hypnotized to behave or communicate in any way that is contrary to their own personal beliefs and values. Your mind will simply reject it. Also, the "hypnotizee," is fully aware of themselves, and their surroundings, both mentally and physically.
For most of us our home and our office have now become one. Wouldn't it be great to create a separate environment from both? Medinosis can temporarily transport your team to their own mental space where they can journey into a relaxed, mentally rejuvenating and creative place. Sessions focus on stress reduction, confidence and empowerment.
Virtual events can be quite engaging. However, listening to speaker, after speaker trying to absorb all the information, can sometimes cause mental and visual strain. Even entertainment can sometimes be static for the viewer. Medinosis is an interactive and interesting way to provide your attendees with a mental break. Pre-pandemic, event organizers were creating organic spaces for guests to recharge; and now we can still do that virtually through guided visualization sessions. It can be incorporated during a break in between sessions, or have a separate stream.
